DIY Vanilla + Mint Exfoliating Body Scrub

Exfoliation is so important and necessary for healthy skin, and body scrubs are one of the best and easiest treatments for removing dead and dull skin cells, softening and smoothing skin, promoting circulation and lymphatic flow, soothing, and moisturizing.

This exfoliating scrub is simple to make in just a few minutes with ingredients that you likely already have on hand, and it will leave skin exfoliated, soft, glowing, moisturized, and feeling silky-smooth!

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups organic granulated or brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup organic carrier oil of choice (sunflower, sweet almond, jojoba, apricot kernel, and MCT coconut oil are a few favorites).
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • A few drops of peppermint essential oil. Feel free to experiment with other essential oils like lavender, sweet orange, geranium, rosemary, clary sage, or lime.
  • Directions:
  • Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Add essential oil drop by drop, add less for a milder scent and more for a stronger and more invigorating aroma.
  • Spoon into jars, cap, and enjoy!
  • To use:
  • Dip clean and dry fingertips into jar and scoop out desired amount. Spread over damp skin and rub in gentle circular motions to exfoliate skin. Once finished, rinse off with warm water.

Notes: The oil in this scrub may leave the tub slippery, so be extra careful. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Do not introduce water into the jar as it will cause your product to spoil. This product is quite stable and will last for 6 months to a year with proper handling and storage.
