We offer our own line of house-made bar soaps and body washes, in addition to some of our favorite soaps made by other Pacific Northwest businesses. We've carefully chosen these vendors because they offer high-quality products and have the same business and sustainability ethics as we adhere to! In addition, we offer a line of environmentally friendly and sustainable bath accessories including ayate washcloths, sea bath sponges, sisal body brushes, luffas, and more!
All of the soaps and body washes that we offer are:
- Colored with herbs, clays, and other natural ingredients - never synthetic dyes.
- Scented with pure essential oils distilled from botanicals - never scented with synthetic fragrance oils.
- Made with luxurious, organic, and sustainable plant-based ingredients.
- Free of any artificial sudsing agents, parabens, sulfates, petroleum derivatives, sodium lauryl sulfate, and other synthetic additives.
- When palm oils are included, they are sustainably and ethically harvested from South America (Orangutan safe).
The soaps that we offer are completely different from commercial varieties. If you've never tried a natural bar of soap, then you're in for a treat! Handcrafted soap is much more moisturizing and gentle on the skin. This is because it contains glycerin, a humectant which helps draw moisture to the skin, making it feel conditioned and nourished. Glycerin naturally occurs during the soap making process, but large industrial soap companies remove glycerin from their soap in order to make a harder and longer-lasting bar. This also makes their soap more drying and harsh on skin. Since handcrafted soap bars contain glycerin, they should be allowed to dry between uses and not be left in standing water ~ otherwise, the bars will naturally soften and melt.
